Don Rushmore became interested in electronics
and cameras at an early age, when his dad,
an engineer for the Bendix Corporation, Sidney
NY, brought home in the early l950's a 7
inch screen RCA black and white television
. 





As TV progressed and technology advanced,
Don went from the Kodak Brownie camera to
the 8 mm and then Super 8, the Bell Windup
16 MM, Cine 60, Mitchell, Arri, and others
while in the Navy as a member of the Seventh
Fleet Public Affairs staff where he covered
the Navy and Marine corps missions in Southeast
Asia, the Tonkin Gulf, Japan, and the Phillippines.
He is a member of the VFW and the American
Legion..
Today as an independent film/television producer
he uses state-of-the-art professional digital cameras, non-linear high speed computer editing
equipment, and professional sound recording
technology.
Rushmore has worked at various times in his
career for CBS, MSNBC, Storer Television
Network, FOX, Francis Ford Coppola (helicopter
cinematographer), the movie "Greasepaint".
He produced a series of documentary/travel
videos (Ticket to Toltec, Silverton and Durango,
Georgetown Loop) which won the "Silver
Reel" award for documentary video by
the New Mexico Film Commission in l985. His
work has been seen on Sunday Morning with
Charles Kuralt, The CBS Evening News (Walter
Cronkite), Fox News, The Don Imus Show, and
other news broadcasts in Chicago, Milwaukee,
and Detroit.
